Growing up in Northern BC, the lumber business was my family’s livelihood, and for the past 32 years, I have never worked a day outside the business. The people in the lumber industry that I have had the privilege to meet and work with over the years are second to none and they have influenced who I am today and what I have learned in this business.
I consider myself an employee of each and every one of my customers and suppliers and I treat them as I would treat my family; with respect and appreciation. The corner stone of my lumber trading activity is based on relationships and integrity and one rarely comes without the other. Since day one, my goal has been to build lasting relationships with both customers and suppliers because long-term relationships generate long term business success for all involved. During the term of my career, my job has evolved to include lumber manufacturing, export trading, domestic trading, product and program development, operations management, and transportation systems.
The phrase “never a dull moment in the lumber business” is what provides me with the daily challenges and opportunities and what keeps me excited, passionate, and focused. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, boating, hiking, and traveling.
